Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10, 2023 and is now available for pre-ordering. The standard edition of the game costs $70 and includes the base game along with some pre-order bonuses like the Soap Operator Pack and Zombie Ghost skin. Instead, you can purchase the Vault Edition for $100 which offers some other interesting content.
Should you buy MW3 Vault Edition? (Modern Warfare 3)
To put it simply, you should buy Modern Warfare 3 Vault Edition only if you're interested in unlocking some cosmetic items for Multiplayer and Warzone. Here are all the bonus rewards you only get by ordering the Vault Edition for MW3:
- Nemesis Operator Pack: Unlocks an animated operator skin for Captain Price, Ghost, Warden, and Makarov.
- Fate Weapon Vaults: Get two Weapon Vaults—Crimson Fate and Carbon Fate—for the SVA 545 Assault Rifle, AMR9 SMG, Riveter Shotgun, and Longbow Sniper Rifle. Weapon Vault is basically an advanced weapon blueprint that unlocks all attachments for that gun and applies the pack's standard theme to all of them.
- BlackCell Battle Pass for one season: This Battle Pass has all the base skins and blueprints plus their BlackCell variant. A BlackCell Battle Pass costs $30 and also includes 1100 CP and 50 Tier Skips.

Being purely cosmetics, not having these rewards will not impact your gameplay whatsoever. Therefore, I suggest going for the base $70 variant for most players unless you're into skins. That said, if you ever decide to unlock these cosmetics after purchasing the standard MW3 version, you can always upgrade it to the Vault Edition for $30 from the store.
