Warzone has gone through a lot of different iterations over the years, from its first appearance in 2020 to its current form in Warzone 3. Across three years of Warzone, there hasn't been a weapon more beloved than the Kar98k—the godfather of sniper rifles. I'm happy to say that fan-favorite sniper may be returning for Warzone Season 4.
Call of Duty content creators received a package with a small teaser that everyone is convinced is a clear nod to the Kar98k returning in Season 4. FaZe Scope shared an image of a small green car (Kar wink-wink) with a 98 logo on the roof and a Call of Duty logo on the trunk, clearly showing that we may be in store for a new era in Warzone, especially when you consider that Treyarch's new Call of Duty is on the horizon—Verdansk anyone?
Now for those of you who aren't convinced and are wondering where the 'K' is in Kar98k, Detonated has us covered as they scratch off the letter 'K', almost guaranteeing we are about to see our beloved once again.
Taking the Kar98k into Verdansk and Caldera to separate skulls from necks was peak Warzone for me and my buddies. Countless times we'd put down a friendly wager for the most kills with the Kar98k to determine its best loadout. There was even a time when we used the weapon without attachments just for fun, and even then it never let any of us down. Upon hearing the news, an old friend reached out to run a few Warzone matches, so I'm in for it now.
Those who never experienced the Kar98k may soon be able to load up a game of Warzone and click heads with the best sniper since the Intervention in MW2. You can expect every player in the game to be using this long-range machine and theory craft the best attachments if the teaser is to be believed. Even winning a game of Warzone without a Kar98k will be a rare sight to see after Season 4 drops.
That's all we have on the Kar98k returning to Warzone. If you're looking for more Call of Duty content then check out How to get Specialist Perk Package in CoD Warzone, Warzone is sweatier than ever, and dads are annoyed, and more on Pro Game Guides.
