Mayor’s Briefcase Key – DMZ (Map Locations)

This briefcase can get you plenty of keys.

In Call of Duty DMZ, you can find specific keys while exploring the different maps. Each of these keys can unlock corresponding locked spaces and containers. While playing on the Vondel map, you will come across the Mayor's Briefcase Key, which can be used to open the Mayor's Briefcase. Finding these keys might not always be easy, but it is definitely worth the risk since it might fetch you special loot in the process. But before you can do either, you will need to know the exact location of the briefcase and how to acquire the key that unlocks it. So, here's where to use and how to get the Mayor's Briefcase Key location in Call of Duty DMZ.

The Mayor's Briefcase Key can be used to unlock the Mayor's Briefcase, located at map sector G3, just west of the City Hall POI on the Vondel map. Check the white arrow on the map image above to see the exact location where you can use the Mayor's Briefcase Key.

Where to use the Mayor's Briefcase Key

To get the Mayor's Briefcase, just look outside the main building of the City Hall POI, and you'll spot a black bench with the briefcase on it. Before you interact with it, make sure to kill the AI forces roaming. There I was, minding my own business, seconds away from unlocking the Mayor's Briefcase, and those AI bots rained on my parade and brutally attacked me. I did not die! But had to use a self-revive kit. So, this isn't a cautionary tale, but you might want to go with your teammates who can tackle them while you open the briefcase.

How to get the Mayor's Briefcase Key in DMZ

The guaranteed method to get the Mayor's Briefcase Key in DMZ is to unlock the Sewers Maintenance Cache located at the map sector E5. However, without the Sewers Maintenance Key, you won't be able to unlock this cache. I found the Mayor's Briefcase Key inside a loot cache on the Taxi Boat Buy Station, as shown in the image below.

There are other more feasible methods of acquiring keys if you do not want to follow the abovementioned process. So, a different approach would be to eliminate the HVT Contracts. These are basically AI bosses who drop keys after being defeated. Alternatively, you might want to check inside duffle bags, loot caches, clothes, crates, lockers, and closed containers. I also found another Mayor's Briefcase key randomly while searching the Supply Drops, so you should also keep an eye out for those.

What loot do you get from the Mayor's Briefcase in DMZ

Once you unlock the Mayor's Briefcase using the key, you will get the following items: Windmill Bag Key, Gold Bars, and a Talking Points document. I recommend finding the Mayor's Briefcase Key to unlock the briefcase because you will need the Windmill Bag Key to open the duffle bag, providing you with the Barista's Bag Key. So, you see, it's all pretty much one loot chain and hence worth the risk if you want special loot in DMZ.
