MW2 Server Maintenance – Scheduled Modern Warfare 2 Server Outages

Get back in the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the latest in Activision's line of first-person shooters within the Modern Warfare line of games. The game has several online features, and like others like it, there are times for scheduled maintenance. These maintenance times cause scheduled server outages that prevent players from enjoying the game online.

Maintenance only ever occurs for two reasons. Either the game is experiencing issues that the developers want to fix, or an update needs to be pushed through. The period in which the game's online services are unavailable differs depending on the specific reason for the maintenance. So, how can you check the status of servers on Modern Warfare 2?

The best way to keep informed about whether or not the servers for Modern Warfare 2 are down is to check Activision's Online Services page. Here, you can choose the game you are playing and the service you are using to ensure whether or not they are currently online. This page also provides tips if you happen to be running into other connection issues. Following the official Activision Support and Infinity Ward Twitter accounts would also be a good idea for more updates.
