If you've played Rebirth Island in the previous Call of Duty: Warzone iteration, you may be familiar with the Occupation Scan public event. This feature has returned to Warzone with the Season 4 Reloaded update. Here's how Occupation Scan works and what to do when the event is active.
What is Occupation Scan in Vondel Resurgence & BR?
Occupation Scan is a public event that appears randomly on Warzone's Vondel map. During this event, any player who is not prone or underwater is scanned and marked for all other players on the map. Players get the Occupation Scan Imminent notification when the event is about to start.
Then, a timer will pop up on your screen (first image), at the end of which the event will go live. This is the time when you must either go prone or dive into the water to avoid detection. Any player who fails to do so when the Occupation Scan Active timer starts (second image) will be spotted and marked on other players' tac maps. I made the mistake of standing up before the red timer ended, and I, therefore, was appearing on enemy players' radars.
Which game modes and map has the Occupation Scan event
The Occupation Scan public event is currently limited to the Vondel map. This map features Resurgence and Battle Royale game modes, both of which may feature this event.
How to avoid being scanned in the Occupation Scan event
As mentioned previously, you can simply dive underwater or go prone wherever you are to avoid being detected in the Occupation Scan public event. Remember, you have to do so throughout the time the Occupation Scan event is active to keep away from being spotted.
Why am I getting spotted in Vondel Warzone?
Although you may be spotted by a Recon Drone or Snapshot Grenade in Warzone, in Vondel, you can also get spotted if you don't comply with the instruction during an Occupation Scan event. Once you're spotted, your live location and direction will be visible to nearby players, who can use this information you track you down easily. However, you'll only be spotted for a short while.
