Top 10 Tips and Tricks for Content Warning

1. Play with friends

You can play solo, especially since the camera has a selfie mode. However, you'll be missing out on some great content, like your friend getting jumpscared by a Snail man and then killed. More people also means more chances of at least one of you surviving and bringing back the footage to the surface. This is extra important on your last day since you want to hit the Views goal and survive for longer.

2. Sacrifice for the views

If you are struggling for views and the deadline is approaching, then it might be time to do something drastic, like sacrifice yourself or your teammate. This is another good reason why you should be playing with friends. You need to do anything for the views, and there's nothing more interesting than getting attacked. If you can't find a monster anywhere, which has happened to me, lasers also make good content.

3. Recharge your equipment

I've forgotten to recharge my flashlight quite a few times and ended up having to wade through the Old World in darkness. The jumpscares are even worse when you can't even see where they're coming from; you just hear the sound cue. Some monsters also shy away from light, which is where a full battery will come in handy.

Recharge stations can be found at several spots in the upper world; all you have to do is approach them and turn on your item. You'll know it's charging by little sparks flying around, but you can also check the battery status in the top right corner of your screen.

4. Don't use up all of your film

Unfortunately, the camera isn't rechargeable. Once you use up the film, that's it. You should always pay attention to whether your camera is on or not. I've had moments where I accidentally switched on the camera, and all I got was a floor presentation. And when something scary was happening, I had no more film left to capture it.

5. Learn the map layouts

I have explored several maps in Content Warning so far. Every three days, if you are successful at reaching your Views goals, you'll make it to the next map. All maps have different layouts along with several starting points; it's important to remember your starting point so that you can get to the ship quickly, especially if you have low health or low oxygen. You'll get used to the first map easily since you will be playing it the most, but you should try to learn the others fast as well.

6. Pay attention to your surroundings

It's like I haven't learned from Lethal Company at all, but you can learn from my mistakes. You need to pay close attention to your surroundings, especially the ceiling. The Patrick Star monster hangs in wait on the ceiling, waiting for you to pass underneath it so it can grab and kill you. There are other monsters lurking in corners of the factory and even outside, so you should always be on high alert. Don't get too distracted filming.

7. Purchase upgrades from the shop

You won't be getting a lot of money at first, and you might have to pay some medical bills along the way, but it is definitely important to shop at the store. Emotes are pretty important, as they will bring you additional views. It's also just very hilarious when you dance in front of a monster that is coming to kill you. Other upgrades like the Hugger or the Shock Stick are super useful at keeping your teammates alive and keeping the enemies at bay.

8. Leave one inventory space empty

You have a very limited inventory, and there are a lot of items you can purchase and bring in to help boost your views. However, you'll want to leave at least one inventory space empty. You can find items in the Old World which you'll want to pick up since they're free. If one of your teammates dies, you'll also want to pick up all their valuable equipment, especially if it's a camera.

9. Don't run out of air

You might think this is simple, but there have been many moments when my teammates and I have died because we weren't looking at our Oxygen tanks. This can easily happen if you are too preoccupied with the Snail that's been following you around or the Starfish that has caught you again. Once you are at around 20%, you should be running for the exit.

10. Run

You are pretty defenseless in Content Warning. You can get items like the Shock Stick, which will stun enemies. You can stun your friends, too, though, leaving them open to any attacl. Unless you know how to use the stick well, I suggest just running. Save up your stamina for critical moments, like when you get attacked by several monsters at the same time.
