As per usual with Toby Fox titles( the two that he has), Deltarune chapter 3 is no stranger to secrets and hidden easter eggs. The main one being the secret ending that you can get by completing a series of challenges, achieving S ranks, and finding hidden items.
This will be a comprehensive guide on how to do everything in order to achieve the secrets for Chapter 3, commonly known as the "weird routes" in the community, which will be important in later chapters. If you want to avoid spoilers I advise you to experience the game first before reading, as for everyone else, let’s get started.

Delturune S-rank guide - Board1
The first step towards the secret ending is getting rank S in the first board of Deltarune's Chapter 3. We will show you both the legit and secret way of getting access to the S rank room. The legit way is by maxing out your rank by completing challenges. The game determines your rank based on 3 stats.
- Battles score
- Pointes gained score
- Chef score
Battles Score Guide
There will be 3 fights that will determine your overall battle rank. The fights may be different but the scoring system is the same. You will need to max out your TP gauge by:
- Guarding
- Avoiding all incoming damage
- Completing the fight in the least amount of actions.
Points gained Guide
Points will be rewarded to the player by completing fights, answering quiz questions, and letting Susie collect them with the power croissant.
Some questions have multiple correct answers, so here are the correct answers to all possible quiz questions:
Q: What time is it right now?
A: TV-THIRTY!, TV TIME!!!, and PAST MIDNIGHT
Q: Brand a values this Ralsei at $8! What’s the true value?
A: HIGHER and $32.00 MSRP
Q: What’s Kris’s favorite food?
A: Pie
Q: What is the name of this show’s host?
A: Mr. Tenna
Q: What is the highly memorable heading of “TV TIME?”?
A: Marvelous Mystery Board
Q: What’s the name of this kid? Seriously, I don't remember.
A: Lancer
(The following question is randomly generated and will require you to choose a body part of a duck. Simply pick the one that doesn’t fit with the image)
Q: This thing seems to suck ass. What’s wrong with it?
A: Legs
Q: What’s the name of this awful guy?
A: PIPPINS
Q: What was Asriel’s favorite character in smashing fighters?
A: Sword Magician
Answering all of these questions correctly will give you a lot of points. There are secret interactions if you choose “incorrect answers”, which gives the game immense replayability.
While you are exploring the board, there are several spots in the map where Susie will start collecting points from the ground. These spots respawn, which means you can keep re-entering that screen and farm points until you feel satisfied. Around 1500 should be more than enough.
Chef score Guide

After completing the game, Mr. Tenna will make the player complete a cooking challenge. You will need to balance food on top of your head, avoid fire, and satisfy customers for points. Here are some helpful tips for this challenge:
- Jumping before grabbing a food item will give you bonus points.
- Focus on having a high stack of food early in the round before the fire starts appearing more regularly.
- Once the VIP guests ( Lanino and Elnina) appear, focus on giving them a stack of at least 3 food items. After that, you can continue as usual.
In order to get S Rank on the board, you don’t need to get S rank in all of these 3 challenges. If you explore the board fully, find the 4th key, and get S in at least 1 of the challenges, and A in the others, the game will still reward you with an overall S rank, and let you access the S room.
Deltarune Secret S room access
Above, we showcased how to get access to the S room in the intended way. There is also a secret way that doesn’t require you to play the game well. You will just need 1500 points. After collecting said points, regardless of the rank, you will go to the bottom of the Green Room.

Go to the bottom of the corridor and you will see a Pippins who will sell you S room access for 1500 points. If you do not have 1500 points before entering the room, they will not show up, so be sure to farm points before entering the Green Room.

After all of this is done, you can access the S room and will be a step closer to the secret ending.
How to get the Deltarune Ice key
Once you have access to the S-rank room, you will be able to access the secret video game. Make your way to the top left part of the room past the NPC that’s blocking the door. After doing a back and forth between not having a controller and getting it from the previous screen, you will be able to play the hidden minigame where the ice key can be found. This is where the game becomes tricky, as there is a set way of playing.
Enemies are not hostile in this level in the beginning, meaning you can explore without any worry. The only thing that can damage you are the cacti, which are easily avoidable. Make your way to the bottom part of the map, where you will find stairs going downwards.

In this room is where you will find the sword in order to progress through the level. At this point, you will need to defeat every enemy, and they will start attacking back. You start at level 1, and will progressively get stronger with each level. At level 1, you can only defeat the purple monsters and fish. At level 2, you can defeat the gold enemies, flowers, and bushes. At level 3, you will be able to destroy cacti, which you will need in order to access the purple room, which is blocked by 2 cacti.

In the following rooms, there will be several enemies and you will need to defeat all of them. This will be necessary in order to achieve level 4, aka max level, which allows you to destroy trees. Make your way to the bottom of the board, on the screen with a small pond.

From there you will start destroying trees in a straight line going towards the right. You will need to do this for several screens until you find the red chest. There you will find the Ice key. This item is required for the secret boss. Or rather in order to defeat the secret boss.

How to get the Deltarune Shelter Key
After finding the Ice key, you will progress the second part of the game as you would the first one. You achieve rank S the exact same way for board 2 as you did for board 1. Yes, you can still go to the bottom of the greenroom and buy access to the S room if you were not successful in attaining it normally. Do not worry, the game won’t punish you. This time instead of a cooking game, you get to play a fun rhythm game.

Once all of that is done, you will make your way to the same S room during the Green Room section, the same game console, and will be greeted with a new game. The concept stays the same, you will kill enemies in order to achieve a high enough level to find the secret path. For board 2, you will only need to get to level 2, and make your way up the initial waterfall.

Once you’ve made it to the top of the waterfall, you will be greeted with another rafter. Use this raft to go to the top left part of the level until you find a dock near the ice path. Continue exploring the ice until you reach the Delta Rune door.

From here, it’s a regular dungeon. You defeat enemies until level 4, and meet a white hooded figure. This person will start following you once you find them in a room, located on the right part of the dungeon. You will encounter a maze area, that seems impossible until you learn the trick.

In order to solve this part, you will need to go through the correct corridors in the correct way. You will know it’s the correct one if the white hooded figure follows you completely. They will hesitate, if you choose the incorrect path. After completing the maze, you will be blocked by another delta rune door. In order to unlock said door, you will need both the cloaked figure and the ice key. If you've done everything correctly, you will be given the Shelter Key.

How to Get the Deltarune Shadow Mantle
After receiving the Shelter key, you will need to play the game normally until you are in the Green room again. It’s not long, and you will have access to the S room without having to do anything extra. You will have a new eerie dialogue with a familiar NPC until you reach the game console, and get the last secret.

You will start this new game in a new location, with Ralsai and Susie. After exploring for a bit, you will find the sword in the bottom right corner of the map. After getting the sword, you might notice that there are no NPCs to defeat in order to level up. Besides two. You will need to attack Ralsai and Susie in order to progress. After doing so, you will explore the dungeon as usual and use the Shelter key to access the hidden boss area.

There is no easy way to cheese this fight. You will lose a couple of times until you figure out its pattern. Defeating this boss will grant you the Shadow Mantle, which you can equip on any character in order to defeat the true final boss of the game. The Roaring Knight. Who will give you the Shadow Crystal.
There are several hints towards the original snowgrave ending from Chapters 1-2 and have a darker tone than the original genocide route from Undertale. Everything that happened with this secret route showcases Kris’s mental state as a kid who feels alone and abandoned after some pretty heavy and real stuff. What the Shadow Crystal will be used for, we still do not know as it will more than likely affect Chapters 5 and onwards, which will be released in the near future.
