Bungie is continuing its trend of strong story-telling with Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted. When Guardians log in for the first time, they'll be thrown into the Leviathan Returns quest. Here's how to survive it.
The Leviathan Returns Quest Steps
Operation: Midas
This mission is fairly straightforward. Pay attention to your radar and follow it to move from location to location. Guardians will start in the Castellum and head underground into the Pleasure Gardens. Once in the Pleasure Gardens, there will be two items that need to be investigated. The first is under the statue of Calus, and the second is a Cabal corpse in front of the golden head of Calus nearby. Once that has been done, give chase to the Nightmare of Safiyah. Once you reach the malfunctioning doors, shoot the electrical conduit just to the left in order to open them. Head up and continue following your radar.

In short order, you'll reach a room with a large golden Cabal. He is immune to weapons and highly aggressive. Creep around the left side of the walkway to get past him. Just like the previous malfunctioning door, shoot the electrical conduit to open it. The next hallway will lead Guardians to a room with an Egregore Spore Pod. Stand next to the pod and shoot it to gain the Egregore Link buff and pass through the barrier sealing the hallway. After another set of hallways, you'll run into another Egregore Spore Pod. Rinse and repeat here.
Head into Calus' Throne Room and interact with the doll. With the trap sprung, you'll be tasked with survival until Eris can complete her ritual to extract you. To those familiar with Eris' rituals, it should be no surprise that this one is a failure. Take down the orange-bar enemy to drop the barrier and run to the exit.
The H.E.L.M.
After the cinematic plays, you'll find yourself in the H.E.L.M. Go through the first doorway on the left. Interact with the big spooky helmet to pick up your Seasonal Artifact. This will complete The Leviathan Returns.
