Bungie showcased Destiny 2's Season 22, The Final Shape, on the 22nd of August. With this showcase comes everything we can expect from the new season. The livestream also showed off the trailer for The Final Shape. I've broken down the trailer for you, so here's everything that you need to know about Season 22 of Destiny 2.
Everything New in Destiny 2 Season 22 Trailer
The trailer starts off by giving you a glimpse into the new world, the Traveler, built by the Witness. You are awakened as you set out for a reality that was always to come. You rise as you hear the Ghost, preparing you for the ultimate journey into the heart of the Traveler as you gather the Vanguard and finally end the war of Light and Darkness. You slowly walk towards the portal with the rest of the Vanguard as you fight your way in to fight the Witness's corruption one last time.
In this new season, you'll fight the final fight that ends a decade-long Destiny story as a new one emerges for the Destiny 2 storyline. The Final Shape, as described by the showcase livestream, is "a nightmare calcification of reality into the Witness's twisted design".
Every legend, every Guardian, and the Vanguard all collaborate to take up the fight against the Traveler. The challenges and fights to come are still unknown, but, as Bungie mentioned in the showcase, it will be anything but easy. While the Traveler has been long-mentioned, The Final Shape finally takes you there in your effort to save everything you've built so far.
The trailer for The Final Shape looks quite promising and gives me hope that the next season is going to live up to the story standards The With Queen held up, which were neglected by Lightfall. This next season has a lot of people's hopes up; we'll have to see if it lives up to the hype.
