When is Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 start date and end date?

The Guardian Games 2023 begins on May 2 and ends on May 23, the same day that Season of Defiance finishes. That gives you Guardians three weeks to fight it out to decide on the best class in Destiny 2 (which is Titan, by the way).

All Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 rewards

There are two earnable Legendary weapons in the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023:

The Title is a returning fan-favorite from 2022's Guardian Games, though it has added perks this year. One of these is Repulsor Brace, which grants an overshield when defeating a Void-debuffed enemy. I'm personally so excited about this one!

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 armor ornaments

Guardians can also obtain exclusive armor ornaments for their class through the event, though Bungie has yet to reveal the names. Instead, they shared images in an April 26 blog post, showing off the new ornaments for Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, which you can view in the slideshow above.

In previous Guardian Games, event-exclusive ornaments have been purchasable via the Eververse using Silver, so we assume this will be the case here.

Other Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 rewards

While Bungie hasn't revealed exactly what they are, we do know that players can get two Exotic emotes. A new title, Champ, and some exclusive Triumphs are also up for grabs.

How to compete in the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023

The Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 yields Medallions as rewards for completing activities like Crucible, Strikes, and Raids. The class with the most Medallions banked in the podium at the Tower at the end of each day wins.

There are four types of Medallion to be won, depending on the activity and difficulty:

  • Bronze Medallion—Gambit, Quickplay Crucible, Vanguard playlist activities, most Neptune activities, Defiant Battlegrounds.
  • Silver Medallion—Gambit, Quickplay Crucible, Vanguard playlist activities, most Neptune activities, Defiant Battlegrounds.
  • Gold Medallion—Nightfalls, Raids, Dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.
  • Platinum Medallion—Nightfalls, Raids, Dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.

You can also earn Gold or Platinum Medallions by purchasing a Contender Card or a Platinum Card for 1,000/1,500 Glimmer. There are two of each type: one for Crucible and one for Gambit and Strikes.
