How to get Risen Umbral Energy in Destiny 2

This resource is very precious!

Risen Umbral Energy is required to focus Umbral Engrams in Destiny 2 Season of the Risen. The only source to obtain this Risen Umbral Energy is by completing PsiOps Battlegrounds. You can launch the PsiOps Battlegrounds. At the end of the activity, you are awarded with two chests, one of which is the Runic Chest. You need to unlock this Runic chest using 500 Psychogenic Intel. Once you unlock this Runic Chest, you will be rewarded with Risen Umbral Energy along with weapons and equipment.

This is the only way in which you can get your hands on Risen Umbral Energy, making this resource a very important one—if you want to focus Umbral Engrams, that is. And while you're at it, consider unlocking the "Umbral Energy Requisition" and the "Umbral Echo" upgrades from the War Table.

The first perk gives you a small chance to obtain Risen Umbral Energy by completing raids, dungeons, and non-seasonal activities. The second perk increases your chances of getting Risen Umbral Energy by focusing Umbral Engrams to unlock Seasonal Weapons. Here's an image showing the two perks we're talking about.

That said, it looks like Umbral Engrams drop more frequently in this season when compared to the previous seasons in Destiny 2. And since you will have a good supply of these Umbral Engrams, it's wise to focus on them as well because there's a chance you'll end up getting Deepsight Resonant weapons from them.
