How to get the Essence of Obscurity in Destiny 2

The Essence of Obscurity is one of the several essences that you can come across on the Moon in Destiny 2. And just like every other essence, this also drops a weapon tied to the Shadowkeep Campaign. The weapon in question here is the Every Waking Moment SMG, a weapon that is as good as Shayura's Wrath. Although we know how to get the Every Waking Moment SMG, here's how you can get your hands on the Essence of Obscurity.

In order for this essence to drop, you will have to keep looting chests on the Moon. While exploring the Moon in Destiny 2, you will spot several yellow bar enemies roaming around in the world. Defeat them and then loot the chest that they drop. You should get the Essence of Obscurity from one of these chests. If you're lucky, you could also get this essence from the chests dropped from Public Events and Lost Sectors.

Do keep in mind that the drop rate for the Essence of Obscurity is quite low. So you might need to farm the chests mentioned above quite a few times in order to get this essence. But once you've got the essence and you've completed the entire quest once, you can just re-acquire it again and complete it for better Every Waking Moment rolls. You don't have to farm for the essence anymore.
