It has become customary for game developers to generate revenue, although it does not always make its way back into the game. You receive three exotics, cosmetics, and consumables, all of which can be obtained for free by playing the game for awhile, or by paying $14.99 to unlock them instantly.

The Destiny 2 Starter Pack includes items that have no value and do not benefit new players. Therefore, in my opinion it is not worth the price for what it offers. Bungie wasted a good opportunity to include newer and rarer content that would make players of all kinds to try their starter pack.
