If you're like me, you probably logged into Diablo 4 for the first time in a while because of the new season. You probably also immediately noticed that none of your promised progress has carried over to the Seasonal server for the Season of Malignant. No Renown. No Statues of Lilith. No waypoints. Bummer, right? Well, turns out there is a solution to this issue that isn't actually an issue at all. Although wonky, here's how to ensure your progress does carry over correctly.
How to carry over progress to Seasonal Server in Diablo 4 (Solution)
So, Blizzard stated that in order to carry over your overworld progress (some Renown, Waypoints, Statues of Lilith), you should first log into the pre-season character with the most progress made. Why this had to be done instead of just fixing the issue normally, I have no idea. Regardless, I did as they said. I logged into my main, a Rogue in T4, and then created my seasonal character. This did not work as intended for me.

Thankfully, what did fix the issue for me was logging into a second character, one of my pre-season alts, and then logging back into the seasonal one. Why this worked, I also have no idea. What is important is that my progress successfully carried over, and I can now play the season with some of my hard work to show for it.
Now, what happens if your progress doesn't carry over and you don't have a pre-season alt or your character was killed in Hardcore mode prior to the start of Season 1? My recommendation to you is to put in a ticket at Blizzard Support, explaining the issue to them in detail they cannot ignore. I wish I could provide you with more insight into that, but Blizzard's ways are a mystery to us all.
