All online games suffer at the hands of random service errors that prevent you from playing, and Diablo 4 is no exception. If you're suffering from the 'Diablo 4 online play is blocked' error or seeing its counterpart error code (300031), here's how you can fix it.

How to fix Diablo 4 Code 300031 error

Diablo 4 error code 300031 is mostly commonly associated with connectivity issues relating to playing on a console. PC players tend to get a variety of different errors, so this one shouldn't be related. Fixing this specific error is not concrete as there have been reports of various 'methods' that fix it. Here are a few known ones that have had some level of success:

  • Restart your Console - Sometimes a good old-fashioned console reset is enough to fix the majority of annoying problems. Doing this may sometimes trigger an update or patch that could be the real culprit behind your inability to connect to the Diablo 4 servers.
  • Unplug your Console - If a restart wasn't enough, try powering down your console entirely and unplugging it from power. I know it sounds strange to do, but technology has never been foolproof, and sometimes foolish ventures yield fruitful results.

  • Download Service Updates - Some updates may come through on your console that aren't automatically downloaded unless given permission. These updates tend to not be significant enough to warrant the auto download. However, you'd be surprised what even the smallest version mismatch can do to code, causing simple errors like this to prevent you from playing.
  • Reset your Internet Connection - Shockingly enough, networking issues can become hold-ups that prevent you from playing in the same way consoles can. It's all technology after all.

If these solutions didn't fix your problem, then unfortunately you'll likely need to wait for Blizzard to make an announcement about the error, or wait for them to fix the problem in the background. The good news is errors like this one don't tend to stick around for long, as Blizzard wants you playing their game, rather than not.
