What is the Dreamlight Parks Fest in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

According to Scrooge McDuck, the Dreamlight Parks Fest was an annual festival that used to take place in the Valley before the Forgetting. For a few weeks a year, the Valley becomes a giant amusement park for all the villagers and visitors to enjoy.

Complete enough Dreamlight Parks Fest quests, and you could unlock three new achievements in the game, each giving you an amazing Disney Parks-inspired map! Two of these are likely Button-Maker and Popcorn Enthusiast in the Village tab of your Dreamlight Duties list, but the third achievement is currently hidden.

For the players, this is a fun community event with lots of new items and rewards for us all to enjoy.

How to find all buttons during the Disney Dreamlight Valley Dreamlight Parks Fest event

One of the big parts of the Dreamlight Parks Fest event is the introduction of Buttons. Buttons can be used to craft various items in Disney Dreamlight Valley by using a crafting table in the Valley. Even new players will have a crafting table in their house quickly after starting the game — or you can use the one outside Goof's house if you haven't moved it yet.

There are five types of Buttons altogether at the moment, with rumors of a sixth (the Yellow Button) that isn't in the game yet.

Red Buttons

Red Buttons can be found around your valley, near villagers' houses. You can also find them near your own house and inside villager houses. They're the most common type of Button, and I found them mostly around the Peaceful Meadow and the Plaza.

Blue Buttons

Blue Buttons aren't something you can find by looking around, you'll need to get your fishing rod out. Head over to Dazzle Beach to fish in the ocean or choose any of the ponds in the Peaceful Meadow. Blue Buttons will appear randomly as you fish. They're found only in the white fishing spots, not the blue or orange.

Green Buttons

Green Buttons cannot be found in your Valley. They are exclusive rewards for completing daily and weekly event quests during the Dreamlight Parks Fest event. If you want to be able to craft more of the furniture items from the event in the future, you'll want to keep a stock of these in one of your chests because it's unlikely that we'll see the Buttons again for a while.

Flower Buttons

Flower Buttons don't look like Buttons, they look like red flowers. They have a Gold Button in the center. They appear different enough from other flowers in Disney Dreamlight Valley that you shouldn't be able to mistake them for anything else. I found that a lot of the Flower Buttons appeared around Red Buttons in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow. They can be found alone, but it depends on how much unused ground space you have in those areas.

Purple Buttons

Purple Buttons are found in the Functional Items section of your Crafting Recipes when you use a crafting table. To make a Purple Button, you need one Blue Button, 2 Red Buttons, and 100 Dreamlight (Dreamlight, itself, not Dreamlight Shards).

Green Button quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Your first interaction for the event will be with Scrooge, who will explain the event and give you some Cupcake recipes to help you along.

To complete the daily and weekly Dreamlight Parks Fest quests and get Green Buttons, you'll need to find Mickey Mouse, Scrooge, Ursula, WALL-E, and Moana to see what Cupcake recipe they want you to make. There are six Cupcake recipes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, including one DLC-exclusive recipe. You can complete multiple Cupcake quests each day, so be sure to stock up on the ingredients.

Make the Cupcakes at Chez Remy or on another fire/stove somewhere in your Valley and deliver them. You may be giving them to one villager or multiple, so keep that in mind when you get each quest.

How to decorate for the Dreamlight Parks Fest event

To start decorating for the Dreamlight Parks Fest, you'll need to speak to Scrooge first and activate the DREAMLIGHT PARKS FEST: DECORATE! quest. This requires that you gather the following materials first:

  • 25 Iron Ingot
  • 10 Red Falling Penstemon
  • 15 Green Falling Penstemon
  • 5 Sunflower
  • 25 Rope
  • 5 White & Red Hydrangea
  • 5 Purple Hydrangea
  • 5 Yellow Daisy

Once you've got these materials, you'll need to craft five Colorful Park Benches and five Disney Park Balloons. You'll then need to place them in your Valley to decorate for the event. A lot of players have some kind of park in their Valley already — there have certainly been enough DreamSnaps, Star Paths, and other events to ensure it.

If you don't have one, there are plenty of attractions in the Premium Shop to go with this event. Remember that update 10 brought a new feature to the game that allows players to ride on attractions in their Valley, so this event will be great to add more to your Valley's park!

Dreamlight Parks Fest Community Challenges in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The community challenges are a really interesting addition to this event and something that Gameloft hasn't done in Disney Dreamlight Valley before. Over the course of the Dreamlight Parks Fest event, players can complete each of these five activities as many times as they like to add to the overall count of everyone playing during the event.

All you need to do to take part is be connected to the internet when you're playing and complete any of the five activities. If the Disney Dreamlight Valley community can reach the target number for each activity, we'll all be given rewards for each activity. The activities, goals, and rewards are:

  • 500 Photos with the Partners Statue shared on social media for a Crafting Essentials Pack.
  • 400k Ice Cream Stands and/or Pretzel Stands Placed in Valleys for a Baking Essentials Pack.
  • 350k Recyclers Placed in Valleys for a Mainstreet Decor Pack.
  • 450k Cupcakes Cooked for a Mickey Mouse Items Pack.
  • 600k Attractions Ridden for Moonstones and a Large Chest.

Players have until June 5th, 2024 to work together and gain these rewards. But that's not all! Claim a free Park Recycling Bin, Park Bench, and Park Lamppost Banner using code PARKSFEST24! This is an official code from the DDV and Gameloft team, and it's great to see a new code!
