You can see the various Biomes if you open your Map menu. The greyed areas are Biomes that haven't been unlocked yet. Night Thorns block off each entrance and will restrict you from entering. You can use your Dreamlight to open the way by selecting the blocked entrance and speaking to Merlin. The very first step to unlocking all the Biomes is restoring the Pillar of Friendship in Peaceful Meadow.

After you restore the Pillar of Friendship, you should have free reign to unlock the other Biomes as you please, as long as you have the proper Dreamlight saved up. Here's a look at how much they each will cost you:

  • Peaceful Meadow - Free
  • Dazzle Beach - 1,000 Dreamlight
  • Forest of Valor - 3,000 Dreamlight
  • Glade of Trust - 5,000 Dreamlight
  • Sunlit Plateau - 7,000 Dreamlight
  • Frosted Heights - 10,000 Dreamlight
  • Forgotten Lands - 15,000 Dreamlight

To earn more Dreamlight, complete any of the duties listed in the various categories shown on the Dreamlight Duties menu. They can be any small task, from harvesting specific resources, giving a character a gift, or reaching a goal amount of fish caught. You can complete them as you work toward other Quests or activities. Duties that require longer tasks, will give you more Dreamlight than others.

The best way to earn Dreamlight fast is to pick a category that you can grind easily, such as Cooking. This way, you can sit in one place, as long as you have a lot of ingredients, and keep making meals that complete the duties. Mining and Fishing are other ones that can be good for grinding. Plus, bring a Disney friend along to help get them done quicker as well.

Once you restore the Pillar of Friendship, you are free to unlock the various Biomes and explore the new areas of the map, each with its own new mysteries and wonders. Just be sure to keep saving up your Dreamlight to unlock them!
