The list contains all weapons available until Chapter 3. We will be adding info on all the remaining weapons and how to obtain next Grade levels soon!

Is It Worth Buying Weapons From the Shop?

Generally, it's only worth buying one next-grade weapon in the shop once next-grade weapons start appearing. That's because the only good thing you'll get from them is extra DPS. The passives and the quality (+1, +2, etc.) are always the same and worse than what you can get from combat drops. Plus, you'll need cash to buy consumables and Battle Arts from shops as well.

What Are the Best Weapons to Use in Dynasty Warriors Origins?

In Dynasty Warriors Origins, you unlock new weapons progressively as you finish story missions and chapters. Since most of the weapons will be locked during certain stages, we're gonna separate the best weapons list per chapter. With that in mind, here is the ranking of weapons for each progression stage in DWO:

Chapter 1 (Early Game)

  1. Longsword: The Longsword has the perfect balance of attack speed and damage. Plus, its Battle Arts are pretty solid, and you can get Longsword EX from the Shop pretty early.
  2. Spear: The Spear has a really good range and solid DPS. It's perfect for dealing with enemies in bulk.
  3. Gauntlets: Gauntlets lack range, and they compensate for that with their single-target DPS.

Chapter 2 (Mid Game)

  1. Staff: The Staff has insane attack speed, DPS, and range. It's the ultimate weapon choice for Chapter 2.
  2. Twin Pikes: The Twin Pikes have an amazing range and are the go-to weapon for dealing with massive hordes of enemies. The Dodge + Light Attack combo spam is especially good.
  3. Longsword: The Longsword is still a good weapon, even for Chapter 2.
  4. Spear: The Spear is worse than the Twin Pikes and the Staff, but it's still viable.
  5. Wheels: The Wheels have pretty good AoE, but their DPS is lackluster.
  6. Gauntlets: The Gauntlets are still good for 1v1s, though the Staff is just better.
  7. Podao: The Podao's attack speed is atrocious. The fact that you have to use it for some training missions will send chills down your spine.

Chapter 3+ (Late Game)
