How to solve the koi fish box in Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Keep moving forward.

There is one big puzzle in just about every chapter in Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. When it comes to Chapter V: Twin Faces, there is one that you encounter in Misaki's bedroom. More specifically, this puzzle can be found on top of the bedside table to the right of the room and features a layout of nine, squared puzzle pieces. It can be started when you find The Colored Koi Panel under Misaki's bed.

Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse koi fish puzzle walkthrough

Each puzzle piece has either the bottom half or top half of four koi fishes that are each orange, purple, gold, and white. The goal of the koi fish puzzle might seem a little odd at first since you've only done number puzzles like the Memo With Code up until now. Instead, you need to rotate the individual pieces until each of the four koi fish's bodies is whole. This could take a little while trying to figure it out yourself, so we completed it for you.

Once you've completed the puzzle, the box will open and you'll have access to the items we listed down below. After obtaining the items, Phase V will end after a brief cutscene.

  • Flat Zinc-Cast Key
  • A Photo of a Faceless Woman
