Maloceros is a powerful foe that lives deep in the Gongaga region of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. If you’re struggling to interrupt this enemy when it uses Concentration to heal up, this guide is for you.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: How to stop Concentrate
To interrupt Concentrate, you must land two powerful consecutive abilities on Maloceros. They don’t have to be from one character. In fact, you can use anybody for this sans Aerith, whose Sorcerous Storm doesn’t have enough power.
Here is a list of moves that can interrupt its concentration:
- Cloud: Braver
- Barret: Charging Uppercut
- Tifa: Divekick
- Red XIII: Sidewinder
- Yuffie: Supreme Art of War or Art of War with Doppelganger active
- Cait Sith: Fortune Telling (if you’re lucky—but that’s what materia is for!)

This monster isn’t particularly fast, so it should be easy enough to make quick work of it. If you’re struggling to do damage, Yuffie’s Fire Ninjutsu with Doppelganger active can get it pressured fairly quickly. Once it is, have Cloud charge with a Firebolt Blade and a series of Focused Thrust until it’s staggered.
