Fortnite Winterfest Challenges (14 Days of Christmas) – Solutions & Rewards!

Our Fortnite Winterfest Guide takes a look at these Christmas themed challenges for the holidays of 2019! If it's like the previous challenges of this nature, then a challenge will unlock each day and you will be able to complete it to obtain a cosmetic reward. There are 14 days in total, so you stand to earn 14 cosmetics for free! You also get one free present each day to open which will contain an additional reward.

Winterfest Start & End Date

Wintefest started on December 18th, 2019 and will run until January 2nd, 2020!

Here's a look at the Winterfest Challenges List:

• Deal damage to opponents with a Snowball Launcher (200)
• Stoke a Campfire (1)
• Eliminations with an Unvaulted Weapon (5)
• Hide inside a Sneaky Snowman in different matches (2)
• Warm yourself by the fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin (1)
• Dance at Holiday trees in different Named Locations (5)
• Search a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (1)
• Use Presents! (2)
• Open Frozen Loot (1)
• Deal damage to an opponent with a Lump of Coal (1)
• Destroy a Sneaky Snowman with a Lightsaber or Pickaxe (1)
• Destroy snowflake decorations! (3)

• Visit The Workshop, Crackshot's Cabin, and Mr. Polar's Artisanal Ice (3)

Unvaulted Weapons & Items

Based on leaks it looks like the following weapons will be unvaulted and brought into the game each day. These will only be available for 24 hours, so if you are a fan of one of these make sure to play as much as possible on that date!

• Day 2: Drum Gun
• Day 3: Flint-Knock Pistol
• Day 4: Stink Bombs
• Day 5: Infantry Rifle
• Day 6: Dual Pistols
• Day 7: Tactical SMG
• Day 8: Shockwave Grenades
• Day 9: Drum Shotgun
• Day 10: Boom Bow
• Day 11: Hand Cannon
• Day 12: Suppressed SMG
• Day 13: Heavy Sniper
• Day 14: Boogie Bomb

Daily Presents

Each day you can open up a present and it will be one of the following rewards! If you want the Millennium Falcon it's on the right side of Crackshot and shaped like the Millennium Falcon (it's hard to miss). The Sith Back Bling is also on the right, behind the Millennium Falcon box. Skins are in the big green box, which can't be opened until the end of the event.

It looks like you can somewhat predict what is in each of the presents. It's based on the present's color (more detailed guide here):

• Light Purple w/Yellow Ribbon Presents: Merry Beastmas Loading Screen & Banner or Snowshaker Emote
• Bright Pink (Purple) w/Blue Ribbon Presents: Peppermint Pick or Merry Chipmas Music
• Blue Presents w/Blue Ribbon: Treefall Glider or New Year 2020 Wrap
• Orange Presents w/Green Ribbon: Holly and Divey Contrail or Shortbread Slicers Pickaxe
• Red Present w/Yellow Ribbon: The Great Crackup Loading Screen & Sock Monkey Banner
• Big Green Present: Skins

Winterfest Challenge Guide

Deal damage to opponents with a Snowball Launcher (200)

Pretty easy one, just find a Snowball Launcher from a chest, floor loot, or supply box and deal some damage with it!

Stoke a Campfire (1)

Find yourself a campfire, they are scattered all over the map. You can light these campfires for free, and then Stoke them for 30 Wood or you can throw a Lump of Coal onto it. Stoking a campfire will temporarily increase the speed of the healing that you receive from it. You can Stoke it multiple times (you only need to do it once for the challenge), but if you let it burn out you'll need to pay 300 wood to get it started again!

Eliminations with an Unvaulted Weapon (5)

You'll need to use one of those listed unvaulted weapons above to get eliminations. You might want to make sure to do it on a day that there's a gun available, because it's going to be tough to get an elimination with a Shockwave Grenade or Boogie Bomb!

I've gotten a tip that the Hunting Rifle and Tactical SMG will also count towards this challenge!

Hide inside a Sneaky Snowman in different matches (2)

You can either get these out of chests or all over the map, or you can go to the snow areas on the map and jump into one of the snowmen that are scattered around. You can find quite a few at the Shiver Inn.

Warm yourself by the fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin (1)

The Winterfest Cabin isn't in the game and is referring to the new section of the menu that is shown in the menu with the Snowflake. Go to the cabin and click on Crackshot. From there you can click on the fireplace and warm yourself by the fire!

Dance at Holiday trees in different Named Locations (5)

There's at least six locations that we know of at the moment for Holiday trees! You can find them listed on the map below.

Search a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (1)

This is ridiculously easy, you'll likely almost always find a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus. If you're worried, just look for a chest out in the open in areas that aren't marked.

Use Presents! (2)

Presents are pretty rare and can be found as floor loot in random places all over the map. I have only been able to find them on the ground, but it's possible they pop out of chests as well.

Open Frozen Loot (1)

You've likely noticed the frozen blocks of ice with something inside of them in the snowy areas on the map. If you want some guaranteed spawns, head to the Shiver Inn where there's quite a few scattered around. These have 3,500 hp, so they do take quite a while to hack down. I found that crouching near them and holding down your harvest key will hit the bullseye pretty much every time.

Deal damage to an opponent with a Lump of Coal (1)

This might be a difficult challenge because it is pretty hard to find a Lump of Coal because they only drop from Presents and rarely out of Ice Boxes. Not only that, you then need to actually hit a person with it. This is likely an easier thing to accomplish in Team Rumble.

Destroy a Sneaky Snowman with a Lightsaber or Pickaxe (1)

This was the encrypted challenge, looks like they were hiding the fact that Lightsabers existed. You should be able to go anywhere on the map and find the snowmen that are around the winter themed areas (Shiver Inn). You can also open an Ice Box which drop Sneaky Snowman pretty regularly and throw one onto the ground and destroy it!

Destroy snowflake decorations! (3)

You can find these decorations all over Pleasant Park. Just look around on each of the houses!

Search Ice Boxes (2)

Ice boxes can be found in various spots all over the map. All you need to do is go up to them and hit the use key on them and some loot will be thrown out! Here's an example of what they look like in-game:

You can find Ice Boxes in the following locations on the map below. There's a TON of Ice Boxes in the Dirty Docks location that is the northeastern building of the area.

Visit The Workshop, Crackshot's Cabin, and Mr. Polar's Artisanal Ice (3)

You just need to visit these places, so you can do it in one game if you want to get it done in one go.

Light a Frozen Firework found on beaches in Sweaty Sands, Craggy Cliffs, or Dirty Docks (1)

You can find these pretty easily on the beaches around the locations listed. Here's a look at a video of how to get this done:

Search Ammo Boxes at The Workshop, Shiver Inn, or Ice Throne (2)

The challenges might have been changed somewhat, so I'm not sure if this one still exists. If it does, you can find the locations in the map below.
