The Close Encounters LTM is returning to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, and Epic Games has added some of the Quests players will have to complete. The Close Encounters LTM is scheduled to run for two weeks, although it has not arrived in-game yet.
Players will find the Close Encounters challenges in the new Quests tab. Completing three Close Encounters Quests will reward players with 18,000 XP. Close Encounters LTM is returning to Fortnite after a while, so players can expect some new elements to be added especially for Chapter 3. Here are all the Quests and rewards for completing the challenges:

- Deal damage to opponents from above in Close Encounters (0/100) - 10,000 XP
- Get an elimination with 10 or fewer players remaining in Close Encounters (0/1) - 14,000 XP
- Eliminate two player opponents within 30 seconds of each other in Close Encounters (0/1) - 12,000 XP
Close Encounters is a fan-favorite LTM that only allows players to use Shotguns. Usually, players spawn with a Jetpack, and the storm circle will move faster. This LTM is designed for high-octane, close-range fights and is best suited for players comfortable with Shotguns. It is recommended that players practice a few rounds in 1v1 modes to improve Shotgun precision and timing.
