What are Nekomata in GhostWire: Tokyo?

The purrfect salesman.

GhostWire: Tokyo is set in a world where humans are no longer roaming the streets. It's up to the yokai that inhabit the city to take over operations, and that's just what the Nekomata have done. These curious two-tailed cats are here to sell you items and exchange collectibles for treasure.

Nekomata manages the shops in GhostWire: Tokyo. If you see a convenience store, you can pop in to buy items from them. These are different from the normal cats that wander the streets in the game, and they won't give you clues.

In addition to the normal Nekomata, there are also ones specializing in buying collectibles. These yokai will tell you what item they want to purchase and a general location where it can be found. This will be a fast way to earn Meika, a currency in the game.

Two videos were posted to the official GhostWire: Tokyo account on Twitter showing these money-savvy felines.

Here's a look at the Handicraft Nekomata that is in charge of the collectible transactions within the game.

It's not yet clear where you find the Handicraft Nekomata, but from the look of the video above, they will likely pop up in storage areas.
