All Harold Halibut multi-chapter achievements

The following achievements are completed across multiple chapters.

  • Slow bro: This will be received automatically once you have spent 15 hours playing the game. Time spent on the main menu doesn’t count and the timer doesn’t seem exactly right. I got this one after closer to 20 hours (according to the Xbox playtime).
  • Forschergeist: You’ll receive this once you’ve put every doodle into Harold’s notebook (these are collected automatically as you work through the storyline).

Clean Machine

This achievement has two parts (you’ll be asked to clean graffiti by a message each time):

  1. Chapter 1.3: Clean up the graffiti on the lab wall.
  2. Chapter 2.1: Clean up the graffiti on the lab wall.

Busy Body

This achievement has three parts:

  1. Chapter 1.3: Go to Gertrude’s Bier Zone in Agora Arcades and listen to the gossip (about the announcement and Filter Frankie).
  2. Chapter 1.4: Go to Gertrude’s Bier Zone in Agora Arcades and listen to the gossip (about the leak).
  3. Chapter 2.4: Go to Gertrude’s Bier Zone in Agora Arcades and listen to the gossip (about the launch proposals).
  4. Chapter 4.2: Go to Gertrude’s Bier Zone in Agora Arcades and listen to the final pieces of gossip (about cupcakes and then the exchange and the Lightkeepers).

Family Ties (and Uniforms)

This achievement has three parts, all connected with the brothers:

  1. Chapter 1.3: Talk to Secretary 17 in Agora Arcades, and then complete the optional tasks Speak to Secretary 8 (in the Central Station) and then Speak to Secretary 24 (in the All Water office where you begin the game). You can then talk to Secretary 8 and Secretary 17 about Warren, the fourth brother.
  2. Chapter 2.1: Talk to Warren (of Water Wieners fame) in Agora Arcades and then talk to each of his brothers (Secretary 8, 17, and 24). Finally, speak to Warren once more to complete the side quest.
  3. Chapter 4.4: Speak to the Secretary in the bathroom of the Lab District and then go to the Agora Arcades and watch the brothers perform their A Capella show on the stage there.

The Postman Always Rings Twice

This achievement has four parts, all of which involve speaking to Buddy (the parts of the achievement that happen during Chapter all begin in the Utility District):

  1. Chapter 2.1: Complete the side quest, A Trip down Memory Lane.
  2. Chapter 2.2: Complete the side quest, Missed Missives.
  3. Chapter 2.3: Complete the side quest, Past Post.
  4. Chapter 4.2: Complete all the postman side quests by delivering letters to Mareaux, Zoya, Brigette, Rafi, Chris, and the Major (the box will be in your bedroom on the table). Finally, return to the box and read the last letter, then complete Buddy’s Final Race optional task to get the achievement.

All Harold Halibut Chapter-specific achievements

Chapter 1 achievements

You can (or sometimes must, as indicated) complete these achievements during Chapter 1.

  • Rebel: During Chapter 1.1 try to leave through the door of the All Water office three times before sitting with Felix. If you don’t do it straight away, you’ll have to do it from a fresh restart but on the plus side, it's the very first scene of the game.
  • Tubular!: You get this automatically the first time you use the All Water Corp tube system in Chapter 1.1.
  • Apres Ski: Talk to Slippie in the Ski Store and use his new dry ski slope.
  • The Plot Thickens: Once you're at least at Chapter 1.3, watch TV for 10 minutes in the lounge in the Lab District. I found this requires you to select the TV and watch it, rather than just be in the room with it on, which means Chris can’t be there.
  • A Winner is You!: Once you're at least at Chapter 1.3, go to Agora Arcades, into the Game Arcade at the end, and play Rapid Fly Zone Force for at least two minutes.
  • Certificate of Participation: Once you're at least at Chapter 1.3, go to Agora Arcades, talk to Buddy the Mailman, and participate in the station jog with him and Chris. Run with them, chat with Buddy afterward, and you’ll get the achievement.
  • Neo-Luddite: During Chapter 1.4 you'll get instructions on how to use the Sample Storage machine. Later, after you once again have to clean the tank, Brigette will message you, asking you to look at a sample. Go to the energy Section, talk to Brigette, and ask her for it, rather than looking for it in the Lab District. This will earn you Neo-Luddite status.
  • Managing Upwards: You get this automatically after completing the quest Blue Rock! Stolen! Inform Mareaux! As long as you talk to Mareux after every step of the search.

Chapter 2 achievements

These achievements can’t be completed before Chapter 2. Some need to be completed during this specific chapter (noted below).

  • Entertainment Onat Fan Club: Go to Agora Arcades, to the stage on the far right, and watch Onat's performance. You only have to watch for a short while.
  • O Captain! My Captain!: Complete all Captain Zoya's optional tasks during Chapters 2.1 and 2.2. Go and speak to him in the Arcade early in Chapter 2.1. After that, you'll have to keep an eye on your messages and chat with him again each time he requests to see you. After meeting him in the Arcade at the start of Chapter 2.2 one final time, you should get the achievement.
  • Rubadubdub: During Chapter 2.1 go to the second room on the righthand side of the Social District corridor and use the bathroom door. Talk to the announcer under the shower to get the achievement.

Chapter 4 achievements

The following achievements must be completed during Chapter 4.

  • Insider Trading: To complete this you need to finish an optional task that’s given by Sunny in Agora Arcades during Chapter 4.1. Once you've spoken to her at her new cupcake stand, convince Warren (also in Agora Arcades) to relocate his Water Wieners food stall to the cave and the achievement is yours.
  • Luke Warm: Slippie will give you a task during Chapter 4.2, which is to help him get set up in the Energy District. When you get asked to find the filter as a main story quest, go to the Energy District and talk to Slippie (you need to insert a tube for him). If you help him, you'll get the achievement.
  • Exchanger Arranger: You’ll receive this achievement once you’ve spoken to everyone you can find about the exchange during Chapter 4.1, both in the cave and on the ship.
