With the first chapter of Senua's story not being all that long when it was released back in 2017, chances are you're wondering whether Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 ups the playtime at all. Well, turns out, the sequel isn't all that long either. Here are all the chapters and how long it took me to play through each one.
How long to beat every chapter in Hellblade 2
In total, it took me six hours and six minutes (to be precise) to beat all six chapters in Hellblade 2. It's worth noting that I didn't get every single one of the Lorestangir or Hidden Face collectibles that are required to 100% complete the game, but I did get a majority of them. If you were planning on getting every single collectible in the game, you could add another hour or so of playtime to the game.
I've listed how long it took me to beat each chapter below, so you know if you'll have enough time to get through the next one.
- Chapter 1: 45 minutes
- Chapter 2: 42 minutes
- Chapter 3: 1 hour 4 minutes
- Chapter 4: 1 hour 22 minutes
- Chapter 5: 1 hour 18 minutes
- Chapter 6: 55 minutes
The playtime above does include a few deaths. I didn't die a lot, but I'd say about five or six times throughout the entire experience. I found all but two of the Lorestangir collectibles, and about half of the secret paths behind the hidden faces. These latter collectibles are pretty tricky to track down, but do contain some interesting lore tidbits that'll appeal to completionists.
Is Hellblade 2 replayable?
Honestly, due to the linear nature of the story, once you've played through the game once, there aren't many reasons to go back through it again. If you didn't get all of the collectibles the first time, you can grab those to tick off another two achievements from the list. You could also play through with one of the alternate narrator voices which are unlocked once you've beaten the game once. There are three alternate narrators, but there isn't a whole lot of narrator dialog, so your mileage with this might vary.
