When is the Hugs & Hearts Event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

This event originally debuted on February 8, 2024, and ran until February 20, 2024. It has since become an annual tradition, with the 2025 event set to run from February 8 to February 22. If you want to fully participate, you'll need a Net, which requires completing the Open the Nature Preserve quest.

How to Start the Hugs & Hearts Event

To begin, Chococat will be waiting at the Seaside Resort plaza (near where My Melody usually stands at the start of each day). Speaking to him will kick off the event, and he’ll explain the basics of collecting Lovebugs and what to do with them.

Once per day, a pink Lovebug will spawn somewhere on the Seaside Resort beach. You’ll need to use your Net to catch it, then take it to the Hugs & Hearts Habitat, a beautiful glass gazebo next to the southern beach (on the right side of the Docks). Depositing the Lovebug there will allow you to claim one piece of event furniture per day.

Lovebugs and the Hatching Process

The main goal of this event is to collect Lovebugs and place them in the Hugs & Hearts Habitat. Once placed, these little creatures will begin their transformation into chrysalises. You can collect one Lovebug per day throughout the festival, so make sure to check in daily if you want to collect as many rewards as possible.

Near the end of the event, the chrysalises will hatch into Heartwings, fluttering around the island. At the festival’s conclusion, Keroppi will inform you that one Heartwing has grown particularly fond of the island and wants to stay. He’ll then gift you a Heartwing as a lasting reminder of the festival.
