Icarus is a PvE survival game where players have to contend with hostile creatures, traverse dangerous environments, and manage their health. As any long-time survival game player knows, death eventually comes for us all. Here's what happens when you finally die in Icarus.
Should you die in Icarus, you can respawn, but it will cost you your experience points that you have accumulated. If you respawn, you can return to your body and gather your belongings. If you are playing multiplayer, your friends can pick you up before you die, assuming they like you enough.
This type of respawning refers to when you die in-game which causes you to respawn in a new dropship or a bed (if you crafted one). If you die due to running out of time on your mission, your character is wiped. You will need to return to the orbital station if you want to keep your character. So make sure you keep your eye on the time.
Icarus is certainly aims to be a challenging experience, especially for solo players, so it's all a function of the gameplay. Regardless of how you play—either alone or with friends—you will need to be careful and play cautiously.
