How to abandon a prospect in Icarus

Sometimes it better to admit defeat.

In Icarus, players take on the role of prospectors and go down to the planet to complete missions. These are called prospects and each one has a set of objectives and a time to complete them. But sometimes these missions are more daunting than the player thought and can't be completed. Players may be wondering if they can abandon prospects in Icarus.

To abandon a prospect in Icarus, players will need to go to the character selection menu. Select the character you wish to abandon prospect. In the bottom left menu, there is an option called Remove From Prospects. Select this. It will ask the player to confirm their choice. Do so and you will have abandoned that prospect.

Abandoning prospects seem like a detrimental use of time, but there are uses to it. The first is as the confirmation window suggests—to be used when the player is stuck and cannot move. It can also be used in cases where the player will run out of time and prevent them from losing that character.

Make sure that you truly want to abandon a prospect before doing so. You will lose all mission progress when abandoning it, therefore having to start all over again.
