How to fix the Error 044 in Icarus

That's not good.

There are bound to be some issues with any game, especially around launch. Unfortunately, one annoying issue has popped up for those eagerly wanting to play Icarus. This is the Error 044 issue that appears when players try to launch Icarus. You might be wondering how to fix this issue.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix for the Error 044 in Icarus besides waiting. You can try closing the game and relaunching it, but the issue seems to be on the game's server. If this error occurs, you cannot play online but can play Icarus in offline mode. You can follow the developer's Twitter page for updates.

While the game still lets you play offline, you will not be able to gain permanent experience and progress for your character. So while you cannot progress, you can at least play and practice your survival skills.

Dean Hall, chief executive of RocketWerkz, cited the issue as a backend service, which resulted in the above issue. RocketWerkz is aware of the issue and will keep players aware of the progression. For now, you will have to play offline.
