How to place and build a door in Icarus

Keep unwanted guests out.

Finding shelter is an important aspect of Icarus. It can protect you from dangerous wildlife as well as from storms. But sometimes, you can't find a good cave to hunker down in and will have to build your own shelter. A key feature of a shelter is a door that you can open and close when you need to enter and exit.

Placing and building a door isn't quite as easy as it sounds in Icarus. You will have to have unlocked both the Thatch Wall and Thatch Door blueprints in Tier 1 of the Tech Tree. With these things unlocked and crafted, you are ready to place and build your door.

You will need to alter the type of wall you place in the build options menu. This is done by selecting the piece of building you wish to place and pressing R. You then need to select the Door Frame option and place it where you want. Then simply select your door in your hot bar and place it in the door frame.

Placing a door in your shelter is vital to keeping predators away and protecting yourself from storm exposure. Once you unlock better materials, you can do the same and upgrade your shelter from thatch to stronger materials.
