Icarus is an upcoming survival game that features PvE content and can play with friends or alone. Players will land on a harsh planet where survival will be difficult. They will have to contend with brutal environments, dangerous wildlife, and manage their resources if they have any hope of making it back to their ship.
One way to increase those odds of survival and manage your resources simultaneously is to take up farming. Players can show off their green thumb by growing crops and cooking delicious meals. They can also expand cooking and farming in Icarus' skill trees. These will allow players to receive buffs and perks.
Some of these include slower food decay, increased food buff duration, as well as the ability to consume raw meat and farming talents. Part of survival games is managing your temperature, thirst, and food. Farming is typically a good way to do all three of these.
The survival genre always benefits from incorporating farming as it increases the number of ways the player enjoys the game and survives. Developer Rocketwerkz hasn't gone into much detail about how the farming will work in Icarus, but if you want to eat, chances are farming is a good option.
