How to beat Morpho Knight in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Is it the real boss or the true boss?

You've completed the main campaign of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, went on through Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams, presented the collected pieces of Leon's soul, and defeated Forgo Leon—and now you're faced with the game's true final boss. Fluttering Dream Eater, Morpho Knight, appears for the final showdown.

It's recommended you go into this fight with a Maxim Tomato, just to be sure you can pull through to the end. But if not, you'll need to give this boss some distance to get used to how it moves and how best to avoid each of Morpho Knight's attacks.

Morpho Knight blinks around, disappearing and reappearing, and using its blade to slice fast. Time your hits as you watch for any opening you can get. It doesn't stay in one place for long, so try to anticipate where it'll be for your next hit.

Jump and hover over the waves of energy, the wall of fire, and the fire cyclones he'll throw your way. These attacks are avoidable, and you can easily run around the large violet Soul Forgo heads that will float toward you.

Maintain your distance with Morpho Knight in phase two

Phase two begins as Morpho Knight brings two huge flaming swords down across the stage. Avoid these first two strikes and watch out for the third, which splits and moves. Hover and move to a side for the third strike.

Another of Morpho Knight's attacks will warp Kirby's reality if you touch the energy waves close to its body. You'll have to deal with inverted-movement directions and screen rotation for a bit, so just try to avoid this altogether by keeping your distance.

All of these attacks leave plenty of stars for normal Kirby to inhale and inflict a good, fixed amount of damage. But we find that his Storm Tornado Copy Ability, upgraded as far as you can get it, is especially effective during these battles. Kirby is virtually invincible as a tornado, which can cover a lot of ground very fast, and its lightning pulses can do nice residual damage.

Congratulations on truly beating Kirby and the Forgotten Land! As a reward, you'll get the Morpho Knight Sword Blueprint and can now upgrade the Sword Copy Ability to its fourth and last form. The Ultimate Cup Z also opens in the Colosseum. Beat that, and you'll see everything this game has to offer.
