How to survive the Manticoils in Lethal Company

Surviving the Manticoils in Lethal Company is a pretty easy endeavor, as they won't ever attack you. They are one of two monster types in this game that won't attack you on sight, or sound. In fact, if you approach the Mainticoils, they will most likely fly away in fear.

Manticoils prey on smaller creatures, and since we are much bigger than them, they avoid us. Maybe with a future game update, these birds will also become a danger to us. For now, we're safe.

Can you kill the Manticoils in Lethal Company?

In theory, you can kill the Manticoils in Lethal Company, but I have yet to figure out how to do it in practice. The only way to kill any monsters in Lethal Company is with melee weapons like shovels or stop signs.

How to kill the Manticoils in Lethal Company

To kill the Manticoils in Lethal Company, I committed to a stealth approach to avoid startling them. I crouched my way over and stopped in range of the zap gun to stun them. However, it didn't seem to register them as a threat, which is true. I tried it several times just to make sure, but it didn't work.

After the zap gun failed, I reworked my plan and ordered stun grenades. Now appropriately equipped, I crouched back to the Manticoils and started throwing. Make sure you throw the grenades close enough to stun them but not too close to startle them. It's a fine line I had to thread on quite a few times.

Once I finally managed to stun a Manticoil, I ran over to it with a shovel and started hitting it. However, nothing happened. The four-winged bird recovered from the stun and flew back into the air. In the developer's words, they can be killed, but I have yet to succeed. I will update you as soon as I find a way actually to get rid of one.
