Best Stats to upgrade in Like a Dragon Gaiden

The three best stats to upgrade in Like a Dragon Gaiden are Boost Max Health, Boost Attack, and Boost Max Heat Gauge. Increasing these will make Kiryu more dangerous in battle and allow him to take more blows. Raising these to the maximum level in your upgrade menu unlocks EX versions of them, but these are quite costly.

I found upgrading Attack to be the most efficient for me, as you collect numerous healing items to keep your health up. Increasing Attack early on lets you quickly dispose of goons and deal more damage to bosses. That said, you shouldn't neglect to upgrade other stats.

Increasing Max Health means you can take more punishment and get more use out of your healing items. Early on, this stat is more important, but as you learn to dodge and block, you take less damage. However, enemies later in the game can deal more damage, so be prepared for powerful attacks if your health is low.

Lastly, increasing your Max Heat Gauge allows Kiryu to use his most powerful attacks longer. While I recommend increasing this stat, I suggest focusing on Attack and Health first. Kiryu's Heat Gauge fills up quickly, so you can typically get multiple uses in larger fights.

How to upgrade Stats in Like a Dragon Gaiden

Upgrading stats requires Yen, so you'll need a lot of it in Like a Dragon Gaiden. You can find this upgrade by opening the menu and selecting the Upgrade Abilities tab. Then, navigate to the stats choice by going to the orange option. Some stats also require Akame Points, which the red requirements below Yen will show. Each time you upgrade a stat, the cost to raise it to the next level increases.
