Constructing new buildings in Manor Lords requires you to know even the smallest details about your land. I'll show you how to use the underground water overlay in Manor Lords so you can find all of the hidden water reservoirs on your land.
How to use the underground water overlay in Manor Lords
The underground water overlay is activated from the construction menu. Open the construction menu by pressing the construction button at the bottom of the screen. It is the second button from the left and has a hammer on it.
After opening the construction menu, a small list of overlays will appear in white writing on the right side of the screen. The second overlay on this list is "underground water". Press this button to activate the underground water overlay. The text will change to yellow when the overlay is activated.

With the overlay activated, any underground water sources will appear as a blue overlay on the land.
Structures like wells can be placed within the blue area to use the water from the underground river.
Fix for 'Underground water overlay not working' in Manor Lords
In Manor Lords, some players have a problem where activating the underground water overlay does nothing.
This problem is most likely due to an issue in the settings of the world. In particular, it deals with the Well Placement setting. If Well Placement is set to "unconstrained", the underground water overlay will not appear on the map.
To avoid this, ensure the Well Placement setting is set to "underground water". I recommend checking this setting before starting a map and checking the overlay at the beginning to ensure it works. This will prevent you from having to reset after making decent progress.
With the proper setting chosen, the underground water overlay will work.
