Mario & Luigi are officially making a return in a new game titled Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Although our Nintendo Direct predictions were slightly off, this news is even better than expected. This Mario Bros game will be all about teamwork, and we won't have to wait too long to try it!

Mario & Luigi: Brothership release date & more

If you're a big Mario Bros fan, you'll be happy to know that the game is releasing this year, meaning we won't have to wait too long before we can hop in. The official day for release is November 7, 2024. Of course, it will only be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch, so get your consoles ready.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Gameplay Details

Mario and Luigi have always been a duo, working together to beat Bowser and save Princess Peach and the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario & Luigi: Brothership will take that teamwork to the next level. It is a two-player experience where one player controls Mario and the other Luigi and progresses through multiple levels. The only way to make it through the various obstacles within the levels is to work together, combining your skills to complete combo moves and relying on Mario and Luigi's bond.

Along with these usual stages, there will also be turn-based combat. Mario and Luigi take turns performing moves on the enemy and simultaneously must react in real-time to dodge incoming attacks or charge up their own attacks. This is a unique twist on turn-based combat that brings ideas from past Mario games like Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga or Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

You'll meet some fun new characters in the Mario world, as well as interact with some iconic characters we all know and love, like Bowser and Princess Peach. All these characters will be important to the storyline but you'll only focus on playing as Mario and Luigi.
