How to use Structure Finder for Minecraft

Make it a bit easier for yourself.

You've found a great Minecraft seed, but it's looking a little empty. A structure of some sort—like a Village, a Stronghold, or a Woodland mansion—would be icing on the cake, but you haven't had any luck. This happens to me all the time, which is why I've compiled ways for you to find structures in Minecraft, most notably using a mod menu called Aristois. Read more below to find out how to use it.

Using Structure Finder in Minecraft with Aristois

Though there are a few ways to locate structures in Minecraft, many involve using cheats or websites. If you want to hunt down structures without resorting to commands, or constantly switching between your browser and Minecraft, then Aristois is your best bet.

How to use Structure Finder

Aristois can be downloaded for any version of Minecraft you own; their website has well-detailed notes on how to install the mod. You simply extract, copy, and paste the mod into your Minecraft folder.

Installing and launching Minecraft will give you the Aristois mod menu. This mod menu has a ton of features. For now, I'll focus more on Structure Finder.

Using the Aristois mod menu, you can easily track down Strongholds, Ocean Monuments, Woodland Mansions, and Buried Treasures in your Minecraft world. Each of these structures has different steps to find using the mod.

Locating Strongholds

  • Craft two Eye of Ender
  • Throw one Eye of Ender in front of you, then move more than 100 blocks away.
  • Throw the second Eye of Ender, then open your mod menu again using right-shift.
  • On the Render tab, click Waypoints to activate it.
  • This will create a visible waypoint for you to go to, with the distance to the Stronghold shown.

Locating Ocean Monuments and Woodland Mansions

  • Find a Cartographer and buy or trade yourself an Ocean Explorer Map or a Woodland Explorer Map.
  • Click Structure Finder in the mod menu to activate it if you have not already.
  • Click Waypoints in the mod menu, and it will show you the directions.

Locating Buried Treasure

  • Locate a shipwreck and take the Buried Treasure Map from the chest.
  • Activate Structure Finder.
  • Activate Waypoints. You will then see the direction to the Buried Treasure in real-time.

Using these methods isn't really cheating the game, because you don't simply spawn in front of these structures. You still have to make the effort of crafting, buying, trading, or locating the items that you need to find these structures anyway. This method simply adds a GPS-like feature, allowing you to locate structures much more easily.
