Monopoly GO events, tournaments, dates, rewards, and rules

I remember playing Monopoly with my family and friends as a kid. I don't recall many details except getting the "Second place in a beauty pageant" card and counting Monopoly money. Now that I'm older, I still enjoy playing Monopoly, but this time with my son, via Monopoly GO mobile game. Events are constantly changing, so playing the game always feels fresh.

Monopoly GO events & tournaments, explained

Monopoly GO events are limited-time occasions where you can earn special rewards. In these multiplayer events, you can play with or against other players. Some popular Monopoly GO events are:

  • Tournaments are competitive events where you compete against other players for special prizes. You'll earn rewards after you reach certain milestones. Depending on your success, you'll also earn prizes at the end of the tournament.
  • Cash Grab is an event where all core gameplay activity rewards and penalties are doubled.
  • Partner Events are co-op competitions where you must improve your board in a limited time.
  • Milestone Events are cooperative events where players work together to complete a set of objectives.
  • Landmark Rush is a limited-time event where players earn rewards for completing landmarks. Landmarks are special properties that can be upgraded to earn more rewards. A good example is the All Cloud Cruisin' event in Monopoly GO.
  • Board Rush is a limited-time event where players earn rewards for completing spaces on the board.
  • Property Wheel Boost is an event where you get additional color wheel spin when you complete a set and step on one of the Hotel tiles.
  • Prize Drop is a mini-game event where you earn prizes and special limited-time tokens to spend in the Store.
  • Rent Frenzy is an event where you get extra players on the board, allowing you to earn more and get more rent money from them.
  • Mega Bank Heist is a limited-time event where you can earn rewards by locating three gold bars for the biggest rewards. You may also find coins and money, but they won't bring you as much as gold bars.
  • Free Parking Event happens every couple of days. You can earn free Dive Rolls or money when you step on the Free Parking tile.

Monopoly GO Rewards, explained

Monopoly GO rewards can be anything from dice rolls and money to exclusive stickers and characters. Rewards are typically given out for completing events, milestones, and challenges. You can also earn extra prizes by playing Monopoly GO daily. Here are some of the most popular Monopoly GO rewards:

  • Dice rolls are the most important resource in Monopoly GO. They allow you to move around the board and buy properties. You can earn Dice rolls by completing events, milestones, and challenges. When you spend all of them, you can only play the game once you buy more of them or wait for time to pass by for five rolls to reappear.
  • Money is the currency of Monopoly GO. Like in classic Monopoly, you'll use it to buy properties and build houses and hotels.
  •  Shields are handy as they may minimize the damage done by other players to your city.
  •  Stickers are an amusing way to customize your character and board in Monopoly GO.
  •  Characters are unique avatars that players can use to represent themselves in Monopoly GO.

Most Important Monopoly GO Dates

Your main goal in Monopoly GO is to have a steady stream of dice. Without them, you can't play the game for more than a few minutes. To prolong your gameplay, participate in Monopoly GO events that award you with dice rolls and additional rewards. Here are some of the most important Monopoly GO dates:

  • New events are generally released daily. You can check the Monopoly GO in-game calendar to learn more about new event dates.
  •  Landmark rush events typically last for a week. Try to complete everything from the weekly assignment while the event is active to get rewards.
  •  Board rush events usually last seven days. You should focus on completing tiles on the board during these events to earn the rewards.
