My Hero Ultra Rumble Beginner's Guide

Focus on one character and their abilities

There are many great characters in My Hero Ultra Rumble, but you must avoid the temptation of playing them all. Instead, select one hero and focus on mastering their skills. This is basically a hero shooter, so knowing how to maximize your character abilities is the best way to win matches.

Stay close to your allies

In basketball, there's an expression "hero ball," which describes a player trying to win the game by doing everything alone. In My Hero Ultra Rumble, you'll fight in a three-player team against others, meaning you won't be able to deal with combat on your own.

If you play with random players who aren't very skilled (as is often the case), stay close to at least one of them, as you'll increase your survivability by sticking together. Playing as a team gives you better options for creating powerful synergies of different abilities. Defeating enemies, saving civilians, and picking up items are much easier if someone is watching your back.

Learn the map and use its tactical advantages

Use map elements in My Hero Ultra Rumble to give you an advantage. Learning to use cover, where the best ambush spots are, and where to retreat will get you far. This is especially important for characters that require a certain playstyle to maximize their strength.

Focus on upgrades at the start of the My Hero Ultra Rumble match

While My Hero Ultra Rumble characters have abilities similar to hero shooters like Overwatch 2, this is still a battle royale game. Instead of looking for enemies to kill, focus first on opening chests and upgrading your character's abilities. Upgrade your favorite skills to at least level 3 before you engage in combat.

Retreat when necessary

While My Hero Ultra Rumble has the characteristics of a hero shooter, being too brave can get you killed fast. Don't hesitate to run away and regroup when you see that you're losing your ground. This way, you can heal, improve your abilities, and plan a more effective strategy.
