Best Temenos build in Octopath Traveler 2

Temenos might be one of the more underrated characters in Octopath Traveler 2. As a healer, he may get outshined by Castti, but he can still provide lots of healing with some offensive utility to help break shields and deal damage. Most of Temenos' utility comes from giving him the right build, with a strong secondary class.

How should players build Temenos in Octopath Traveler 2?

To make Temenos into a strong character in Octopath Traveler 2, players should try giving him Scholar as a secondary class. This gives Temenos lots more coverage than the Light attacks he is locked into with Cleric.

Scholar also gives Temenos the Analyze ability, which definitely comes in handy against bosses. In parties without Osvald (a character who uses Analyze on turn one for free), Analyze is almost necessary to find out enemy weaknesses. The only other ability in the game that can do something similar is Akala or Mahina on Ochette; otherwise, players can only use trial and error.

The final reason why it's good for Temenos to run Scholar is that its support skills have good synergy with Cleric. Scholar provides a flat increase in Elemental Attack by 50 with the Elemental Augmentation support skill. Temenos already gets extra SP from the Cleric class, so he can afford to use lots of spells before he needs an Inspiriting Plum.

An optimal Support Skill build for Temenos would look something like this:

• Inner Strength
• Rise Again
• Elemental Augmentation
• Advanced Magic Master

Earlier in the game, Temenos could equip Extra Experience to help him level up. In addition, Scholar gives Temenos the Evasive Maneuvers support skill, which lowers the chances of encountering enemies in the wild. Through Cleric, Temenos gets Evil Ward, which raises the likelihood of successfully fleeing a battle. These two skills together can help the party avoid dying if stuck in a dangerous area.
