10 Best Passive Traits in Palworld

Look out for these traits in Palworld!

Passive traits are predetermined and randomized Pals' skills that determine your Pals' leveling tree, and it's important to learn which traits to look for to avoid Pals with weaker stats. After enough research and playtime, I've compiled a list of the best passive traits in Palworld that you should focus on.

Best Passive Skills in Palworld

These are my personal 10 "best" passive skills to look for in Palworld, with varying tiers and effect strength. While Tier 3 traits are the best on paper, you'll find plenty of useful Tier 1 and Tier 2 traits in the game, and they're especially handy to have in the early game. Let's dive in!

10. Artisan

The Artisan Passive Skill is the best trait for Worker Pals since it boosts their Work Speed by 50 percent. If the Pal has good attacking stats, this will also help him level up faster, giving you a hard-working Pal-killing machine!

9. Ferocious

A powerful Tier 3 skill, Ferocious gives your Pal a 20 percent Attack boost, and if you stumble upon a Pal with this trait, you'll have an instant battle-ready pal that gets even more powerful after each level. This trait comes with no nerfs whatsoever, letting you stack attack points to no end.

8. Swift

Agile Pals are equally effective on the farm and in battle since their speed helps them dodge attacks and go from place to place in no time. Pals with the Swift trait have a 30 percent movement buff with no side effects, which can make Pals like Darkbeak or Surfent dizzyingly fast.

7. Lucky

The Lucky trait is a well-balanced and fairly common trait in Palworld, boosting your Pal's Attack and Work Speed by 15 percent. This skill works great on all Pal types, and Luckly Pals make for versatile fighters and decent workers.

6. Legend

Working as a threefold buff, Legend bumps your Pal's attack and defense by 20 percent, and its Movement Speed also gets a 15 percent bump. The Legend Skill is fantastic for building the ultimate fighting Pal, especially after leveling up!

5. Work Slave

The Work Slave gives a 30 percent work speed but at the cost of a 30 percent attack nerf. As a Tier 1 trait, this skill is useful in the early game to build up your ranch and Pal level.

4. Musclehead

Think Work Slave, but vice versa. The Musclehead trait lowers your Pal's Work Speed by 50 percent, but the 30 percent Attack boost will give you an instant heavy-hitter Pal. Although hard to find, Kitsun and Anubis with the Musclehead trait are basically unstoppable in battle.

3. Celestial Emperor

Neutral attacks are weak against Dark Elements and have no special boost against any particular Element, which is where the Celestial Emperor trait comes into play. This passive skill adds 20 percent more Neutral attack damage, giving Neutral Pals a chance to fight with all the other Elements.

2. Flame Emperor

Fire Pals like Warsect are a nightmare for Ice and Grass Pals, and with the 20 percent Attack Boost from the Flame Emperor trait, they become even more effective. The boost also helps Fire Pals fight their aquatic counterparts and gives them a much-needed helping hand.

1. Serious

Serious is a variant of the Work Slave trait, giving your Pal 20 percent more Work Speed, but without any other stats nerfs. Since it's a Tier 2 Passive Skill, you'll find plenty of Pals with the Serious Skill, which you can put to work straight away!
