After leveling up my character I decided to expand my Pal empire by building a second base, but I kept running into an error that prevented me from building it. If you're in the same boat, here's how to fix the 'Can't build any more bases' error in Palworld.
Ways to fix 'Can't build any more bases' error in Palworld
Check your base Level
If you want to build a second base, your first base should be at least Level 10, and your character should be at least Level 2, otherwise you won't be able to place the Palbox down. To Level up your base, approach the Palbox and look at the Level requirements for each Level.
Move further from your first base
Two bases cannot be too close to one another in Palworld. Although the exact minimum distance between two bases is unknown, try moving progressively further from your first base until you manage to set the Palbox down.
Rotate the Palbox
Palboxes have sensitive placement boxes, and you need to make sure you're far from any structures or NPCs since they sometimes mess with building mechanics. Try rotating the Palbox to different positions, and eventually you'll be able to place the Palbox down.
Dismantle the phantom Palbox
After you unsuccessfully try to place the second Palbox for the first time, the game can register that the Palbox has been placed on the map, even though there's no Palbox to be found. Open your map and check whether there's a Palbox icon on the place where you attempted to place it. If there is one, dismantle it and try to place it again.
Reassemble the Palbox in the first base
When you dismantle the Palbox in your base and place it again, the game re-registers certain values in the code, and that's one of the possible ways to fix this annoying bug. Don't worry, other structures in your base will stay where they are, and your base's Level won't reset.
Reset Palworld
A simple game reset is sometimes all you need—exit Palworld, reload the game, and return to your world. Place the second Palbox at a certain distance from your first base, and start building your second base.
