After waiting with excitement for Palworld to come out, many are faced with a black screen when launching the game. If it's happening to you, here's how to fix the Palworld black screen error.

Clear local game files on Xbox console

If you are on Xbox console, and are experiencing the black screen error, don't worry: there is a solution! This will only delete your local save files, but all of the cloud storage will remain intact.

Select Profile & system.
Go to Settings.
Go to System.
Go to Storage.
Select Clear local 360 Xbox storage .

Update your drivers

If your drivers are out of date, then this might be the reason why you are facing the black screen issue. Update your drivers and try the game again.

Verify files

Games will often stop working due to some files getting damaged or corrupted. In order to fix this issue, you need to verify the integrity of your files.

Here's how to verify the integrity of your files on Steam.

Go to the Palworld Steam page.
Click on Properties.
Click on the Installed Files

Select Palworld in the Xbox app.
Click on the More Options button.
Click on Manage.
Go to Files.
Verify and repair.

Reinstall the game

The good old turning it off and on again. If repairing files doesn't work, then this is your next option. Reinstall the game in a different driver, just in case, as the location of the files might have been causing the issue, too.

Run the game as administrator

Sometimes, you have to let the game do its thing without your computer getting in the way. To run the game as administrator, you have to go to the Steam folder and find the game first. Once you've opened it, right-click on the launcher .exe file to run the game as administrator.

If you're using the Xbox app, you'll find the game launcher once you click the Browse button in your Files section. Right-click it and run as administrator to solve the black screen issue.
