How to install mods for Palworld

Palworld is already a complex game, with nearly everything well-polished and no rough edges. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement. One positive aspect of the modding community is that most players share a common desire to improve things.

When you visit Nexus Mods, you will discover numerous Palworld mods, including enhancements to game mechanics, new features, and, notably, graphic reshade mods. In order to install these mods, you will need to install the UE4SS Xinput script, allowing you to run Palworld mods.

Installing UE4SS Xinput for Palworld

  • Download the UE4SS Xinput
    • Scroll down on GitHub and click the latest .zip file to start the download.
  • Extract the .zip file in your Palworld folder
    • Steam: Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\
    • Gamepass: Appdata\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK\
  • Remove everything from the Mods folder except the mods.txt file
  • Open the mods.txt file, and clear all text to make room for future mods.

Now that your mods folder is ready, you can proceed to download mods from Nexus Mods or any other website of your choice.

Installing mods for Palworld on Steam and Gamepass

  • Download the mod from Nexus Mods
  • Paste the mod folder in your new mods folder
    • Steam: Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\Mods
    • Gamepass: Appdata\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\WinGDK\Mods
  • Open the mods.txt file and add the mod name to it
    • For example: MoreTechnologyPoints: 1 
  • Launch the game!
