Tombat is one of the most useful Pals with level 2 work suitability for Transporting, Gathering, and Mining, on top of his ultrasonic sensor for detecting nearby Pals. In this guide, I will teach you how to find and catch a Tombat in Palworld.
How to find and catch Tombat in Palworld
If you are unable to find Tombat, you are likely looking at the wrong time in the game. Tombat is a night creature, and if you are roaming around during the day, you will never find it unless you go inside a dungeon, where Pals are more powerful and more challenging to catch. So, to catch a Tombat, craft an outfit that can withstand cold and then wait for night.
Once it's night, head over to the Tombat habitant areas near the game's starting points at around 142 -441 if you are at lower levels, but otherwise, go to higher-level regions around -440, -40 to get a more powerful Tombat. Once you are in these areas, roam around, and you will eventually encounter a Tombat. These guys have a purple fire, which makes them hard to miss.
After you spot one, take your Pal out and start damaging it until its health is as low as you can take it. Call your Pal back so it doesn't accidentally kill the Tombat. Now try throwing a Pal Sphere and see if you can catch it.
If not, try moving to the back of the Tombat and throw a Pal Sphere at its back to have increased chances of capturing it. This will make things easier, and you will get yourself a Tombat.
What does Tombat's Ultrasonic passive do?
When you have a Tombat, add it to your party, and head out in the wild. Press the button to take him out, and you will get the option to use his passive Ultrasonic, which will scan all the nearby areas for Pals. This adds all the nearby Pals in the compass at the top of your screen, making it easy to hunt down Pals.
