Care for an adorable creature companion in Peridot, a new title from Niantic

Aren't they adorable?

The creators behind the popular AR gaming app Pokémon GO, Niantic has announced a new title and IP in Peridot. This will be a new AR game aimed at getting out and about while taking care of digital companion pets known as Peridots.

This announcement was made via the official Niantic and Play Peridot Twitter accounts. It states, in part, "a real-world adventure pet game where you raise, care for, and breed one-of-a-kind adorable creatures," evoking memories of Neopets and Tamagotchi in fans.

In Peridot, you care for Peridots, magical creatures, where you can pet, play, feed, and teach them tricks. This is all in the goal of their health and happiness—as well as yours! Be sure to take photos and videos to commemorate happy moments.

You will be able to explore the world as you take your Peridots on walks and discover new locations. Be sure to check out the teaser trailer on the official Peridots YouTube channel to get a first look!
