Lucky you!

If you’re reading this guide, then that means you’ve uncovered one Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask DLC’s secrets: Mr. Jaq and his free Sinnoh starters. Plus, you were lucky enough to hatch a Chimchar! Well, that, or you’ve traded for one. Here are the natures you should choose for Chimchar, Monferno, and Infernape in the game.

Best Natures for Chimchar, Monferno, and Infernape in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The best natures for Chimchar, Monferno, and Infernape are the following:

  • Adamant (-Attack, -Sp. Attack)
  • Jolly (+Speed, -Sp. Attack)

Despite Infernape’s equally high Attack and Sp. Attack stat, Adamant or Jolly is always the way to go. Monferno and Infernape learn more physical attack moves, such as Flare Blitz and Raging Fury. Adamant is good for clearing story content (including those pesky Ogre trainers) and Raids, while Jolly is more useful in PvP. If Pokémon Scarlet & Violet adds something similar to a Battle Tower, you know what to do.
