What are the Best Natures for Poochyena and Mightyena in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The best natures for Poochyena and Mightyena in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are the following:

  • Jolly (+ Speed, - Sp. Atk)
  • Adamant (+ Attack, - Sp. Atk)

Jolly is the obvious choice for Poochyena because it increases Speed, which will help you strike your opponent first. Both Poochyena and Mightyena favor physical Attack over Special Attack, so reducing the latter won't diminish their offensive capabilities.

Another option you have is the Adamant nature, which will give a very Attack-focused Poochyena. While the above balances Poochyena, this one adds more to the attack, making Poochyena hit bulkier opponents for more damage. This is a better option once your Poochyena evolves into a Mightyena at level 18.

How to Choose the Best Nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Picking the best nature comes down to two major factors. The first is what you want from a certain Pokémon, such as Speed or tankiness. The other major factor is how strong or weak a Pokémon is in certain stats; if a Pokémon has a lot of HP, for example, it's good to focus on defense when choosing nature.
