Can you evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Answered

Isn't that a little... wyrd?

Stantler is a deer-like Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation of Pokémon and returns again in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. In Pokémon: Legends Arceus, Stantler was given a new evolution that you could ride around the region of Hisui named Wyrdeer. You were able to evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer by using the move Psyshield Bash 20 times while in agile mode.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case in the latest title. In fact, even though you are able to catch Stantler in the South Province (Area Five) and South Province (Area Three), you aren't able to evolve them into Wyrdeer at all. So, how do you get a Wydeer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

How to get Wyrdeer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

In order to get a Wyrdeer in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you would need to trade it in from Pokémon HOME when the compatibility becomes available. Until then, you can trade your Wyrdeer from Pokémon: Legends Arceus to Pokémon HOME so that they will be ready. Unfortunately, this doesn't add Wyrdeer to your Paldean Pokédex, but you can rest easy knowing you already have one ready to fill in that entry when available.

It's important to check on Stantler's nature before you do this because it will roll over to Wydeer after the evolution. A Pokémon's nature cannot be changed, so ensure that your Stantler has the one that you prefer.
