How Level Balls work and where to get them in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

There are many types of Pokémon to catch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet throughout Paldea. These are captured with Pokéballs, of which many have different effectiveness. This goes up to the Master Ball, which has a 100 percent capture rate, but there are others, like the Level Ball. This may leave you wondering what the Level Ball does and how to get them in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

What do Level Balls do in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Level Balls are a unique type of Pokéballs that will be more effective against Pokémon lower level than your current Pokémon. This means you will want to put your highest level Pokémon as your lead Pokémon to be most effective. But unlike some Pokéballs, these cannot be purchased from the Delibird Presents stores.

Where to find Level Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Level Balls are not for sale through Delibird Presents stores but rather up for auction at the Porto Marinada Market. They will be up for bid once you have cleared the Cascarrafa Gym Challenge and registered 270 Pokémon in your Pokédex.

They can also be earned as a reward from the Academy Ace Tournament. Once you have defeated all eight gyms in the Victory Road path, this is unlocked. Level Balls are one of the many random rewards you can get through the Academy Ace Tournament in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
